10Cr15CoMoV the Chinese equivalent of the Japanese VG10

10Cr15CoMoV comprises an almost Identical Carbon, Chromium, Cobalt, Molybdenum, Vanadium, and Manganese as Japanese VG 10 steel, and both are widely utilized in knife manufacturing. Japanese VG-10 and Chinese VG-10 steel are highly regarded for their outstanding edge retention, corrosion resistance, and overall durability. Furthermore, they exhibit exceptional toughness, further contributing to their impressive performance and longevity.

10Cr15CoMoV Chinese VG10 Steel Core HRC 60-61

Both range between 60-61HRC. Adding rare metals provides higher anti-corrosion, anti-rust, and toughness properties. The blade is incredibly strong and stable, and its razor-sharp edge can be maintained with just a honing rod for months of frequent daily use.

Note: Many knife companies that advertise Japanese vg10 steel knives are selling their Chinese counterpart, the 10Cr15CoMoV. The Chinese 10Cr15CoMoV can achieve the same qualities as Japanese vg10 steel, but only if the Chinese knife manufacturer uses top-quality vacuum deep-cooling heat treatment and annealing. Read what Chef Panko top YouTube independent Asian knife reviewer, has to say.

I believe Xinzuo has the potential to be the best, if not already the number one, kitchen knifemanufacturer in China, especially when comparing them to the 100+ knives I have tested, particularly in terms of quality control, materials, and heat treatment. Chef Panko

Top-Quality Vacuum Deep-cooling Heat Treatment and Annealing

XINZUO knives insist on using top-quality vacuum deep-cooling heat treatment and annealing to achieve the standards set by Takfu of Japan, like an HRC of 60-61. The high cost of the equipment and the experienced engineers required for the process set Xinzuo apart from its competitors, who mostly use ordinary nitriding furnaces and lower-skilled workers. Using cheaper heat treatment is why so many Chinese manufacturers only realize 70% to 80% of the VG-10 steel properties and qualities.

66-layer Forged Compressed Damascus Pattern

The 66 316/316L Damascus Stainless Steel layers are layered on top of the core. This helps keep the core corrosion-free while adding aesthetic accents with a striking Compressed Damascus Pattern. The knife features a double bevel design with 15 angles on either side. This Golden Angle ensures that the edge will be as sharp and durable as possible, reducing how regularly you sharpen the blade.

Classic Japanese Octagonal Handle Design

The handle is a traditional Japanese Octagon shape. While it might not look or sound comfortable, this handle style is excellent for working with a knife for a long time. It provides a firm grip and multiple hand positions while using the knife. The Buffalo Horn and Olive Wood used in the handle are beautiful and durable Materials that accent the blades Damascus pattern. After many hand polishings, the handle has a delicate texture and a comfortable ergonomic grip.
